Little Amaniku holds the fate of a planet in her hands. She and her parents return to Earth after devastating atom wars, taking refuge deep under sea to escape contamination. Genetic codes they have preserved are the key to regenerating life. Now, out of hypersleep, Amaniku finds her parents dead and no one but an over-protective ship's computer and a pint-sized android for company, and protection. A leap forward in animation this gob-smacking 3D computer generated production (no annoying 3D glasses required) renders images normally only seen at the sharp end of digital technology. Taking the phantasmagorical and often apocalyptic conventions of the best of Japanese anime, Blue Remains communicates strong ecological messages in a titanic struggle for planetary domination. Battling disembodied mutant brains and ruthless robotic parasites, Amaniku uses guile and cunning to outwit malevolent forces. Wow!
