In four corners of the globe - in each of the four seasons - four outstanding violinists undergo an extraordinary journey through their homelands. The resonant and much-loved music of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, along with the timeless stories of the artists, form the backbone of this celebration of friendship, homeland and, fundamentally, the cycle of seasons. From the springtime blossoms of Japan to the blistering heat of an Australian summer, the joys of autumn in New York to the unforgiving cold of a Finnish winter, 4 uses Vivaldi's music to seamlessly unite each narrative with punctuations of jazz, Australian Indigenous music and Finnish folk. Artists featured are Sayaka Shoji (spring), Niki Vasilakis (summer), Cho-Liang Lin (autumn) and Pekka Kuusisto (winter).
