Frozen Music

UK, 1983 (MIFF 1985)

Director: Michael Eaton

Frozen Music is an examination of the thoughts and aspirations of Victorian ruling class thought as revealed through the Albert Memorial, a monument of pure signification. The soundtrack consists of a montage of voices, and is composed of Victorian quotations and modern analyses, together with the bemused speculation of a couple of American tourists and a specially commissioned score by Michael Nyman.
