As Boys to Wanton Flies

Australia, 1987 (MIFF 1988, Fiction)

Director: Kevin Blond

An Oedipal Mites-of-Passage film in which Lionel, a bug-eyed pre-pubescent boy learns that the difference between incests and insects is more than a mothful. Lionel is plagued by a fear that won't Baygone - a blight to his socialite parents, respectable (cata)pillars of the community, and Enka their arachnidic au pair

Eventually Lionel and Enka come to blowies as Lionel tries to flea the tangled webs of sexual politicks. A film swarming with insect-asides, guaranteed to cause a buzz.
