Che's Revenge

USA, 1987 (MIFF 1988, Fiction)

Director: Eva Gardos

Set in the dog eat dog world of Los Angeles' yuppies Che's Revenge is a tragi-comic story about dinner parties and Central America

Jack and Candy (the yuppies) tell a tale that wags just once too often for Lola (the Guatemalan maid with the 'mysterious' past- "We say 'housekeeper' here - it sounds less, yo know ") Lola shows she's no one's dogsbody by cooking up her own surprise in the kitchen and forcing Jack to eat his words.

"Eva Gardos serves up an atmosphere so chumpy you could carve it with a knife"
