Clive Barker: The Art of Horror

Canada, 1992 (MIFF 1992, Documentary)

Director: Chris Holland

Are fantasy writers seriously weird people? Clive Barker, the English writer, illustrator and filmmaker is, and if you are not an avid fan of Barker's miscreations, you will still find him seriously weird and perhaps disturbing He believes m the phantoms and monsters unleashed in the human mind and is bent on scarmg the hell out of everyone He is one of those minor creative industries, and this film follows him through the hazards of book launches, fans, and the publishing and film world It is a lifestyle he seems to enjoy, and along the way we are treated to some of his homely philosophies on writing horror, making films and life in general It is the life-in-general stuff that makes you wonder (GM)
