Eggshells

Cuba / Venezuela, 1991 (MIFF 1993, Fiction)

Director: Mariana Rondon

A woman sells tickets in a seedy art-deco cinema, as voices from a passionate melodrama float through the foyer, disembodied. The cleaner, reflected and distorted in a mirror, becomes the focus of her romantic dreams. When the mirror shatters, the film moves to an inevitable tragic conclusion.
