Darling International

USA, 2000 (MIFF 2000, Peepshow – Titillation & The Moving Image)

Director: Jennifer Todd Reeves, M.M. Serra

The kaleidoscopic intensity of images in Jennifer Todd Reeves' and MM. Serra's Darling International centre on a sadomasochistic scenario between two women who play out their fantasies after work. The experimental narrative sets up a series of sensory deprivations and enhancements as the women are caught in a vortex of passion. The film's grainy visual texture and layered sound track embodies the tactility of their desires.
