The small group of soldiers interviewed for this documentary display a range of personalities but with a few common, deadly traits. Each is able to keep his conscience in check by immersing himself in the technical aspects of his grim work and by taking all steps to prevent seeing their actions as murder from a distance.
Each man speaks openly of the excitement of killing, even of feeling like a god, but tics and slips give away their inner turmoil. The snipers constantly refer to their victims as 'the target' or 'the terrorist', while lovingly describing the extreme focus they achieve in preparation. They see their job as a complex game. Unfortunately the person in the crosshairs doesn't know there's a game and hasn't been told the fatal rules.
