When Wayne Lynch first appeared on the scene, he created shockwaves: no one had ever surfed like him before, and his revolutionary approach to the sport came to define modern surfing.
Uncharted Waters follows Lynch, "the ultimate soul surfer", throughout his fabled career. From his years as a conscientious objector, living as an outlaw on Victoria's south coast, to his invention of "vertical surfing" and the impact he had on his chosen sport, it paints a picture of a man who sought a spiritual connection with the ocean and refused to compromise on his ideals.
Director Craig Griffin has collated a compelling array of archival footage and interviews to evoke Lynch's love of surfing, the Southern Ocean and of a life lived on the edge.
