Box Office staff
We are currently recruiting for casual Box Office staff for the 2019 Melbourne International Film Festival, taking place between 1 and 18 August 2019.
We are looking for people who will provide a high-level of customer service, are passionate about film and have an ability to work efficiently both on their own and as part of a team. Excellent computer skills are essential.
There are roles commencing on Monday 8 July and Tuesday 23 July. Successful applicants must be available to attend a training session on either of these dates. Staff will be required to work daytime, weekend and evening hours, and should have good availability over the festival period, with full availability on weekends.
Box Office duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing frontline customer service to MIFF customers, including troubleshooting where necessary
- Processing ticket sales at various festival venues, including counter sales and telephone bookings
- Providing information on festival events and operations to customers
- Cash handling and end of shift reconciliation

We are currently recruiting for casual venue coordinators (VC) and ushers for the 2019 Melbourne International Film Festival, taking place between 1 and 18 August 2019.
FOH staff oversee the safe and enjoyable experience of audiences, including MIFF members, at all festival venues, provide excellent customer service and ensure that all screenings and events run efficiently to schedule. Venue coordinators are expected to work autonomously, to have experience managing staff and/or volunteers, use initiative to make ad-hoc operational decisions and to be well-versed in FOH processes. Ushers are expected to work as part of a team, will be managing volunteers and should be capable of running a cinema space with limited supervision. Please refer to the position descriptions below for a detailed outline of each role and the skills required.
If you have a love for film, excel at customer service, have experience managing and communicating with large groups of people and thrive in a dynamic festival environment, we would love to hear from you!
Staff will be required to work weekends and daytime and/or evening hours. Availability on the weekend is essential to be considered for a role and good availability over the festival period of at least five shifts per week for an usher and six shifts per week for a VC is expected.
Staff will also be required to attend a compulsory training on Wednesday 24 July 2019.
