Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Matthew Rettenmund, Boy Culture is a street-smart tale of gay male (in this case, often wayward) desire.

Pulling out all stops with superb performances from the relatively unknown cast, this second feature from Q. Allan Brocka takes on issues of sexual mores and emotional risk with a witty and incisive voice.

A candid confession of a successful male escort, Boy Culture sees the wildly seductive X succumb to a romantic entanglement, after 10 years of sex-for-pay, which involves his two roommates and a reclusive elderly client, Gregory. Gregory tells an unsettling love story spanning 50 years and dares X to try something he hasn't felt in years: emotion.

Variety pinpointed Brocka as one of five gay directors to watch - and this film proves why. Says Brocka, “Most gay-themed romances I've seen, read, and even made, tend to resemble the format of heterosexual romances. What I discovered when reading Boy Culture is that there are differences... These characters are uniquely men.”
