SEE JACK RUN

Australia, 1993 (MIFF 1994, Youth Film Festival)

Director: Stephen Amis

Set in the industrial heartland of Melbourne's Western suburbs, See Jack Run is a relevant and interesting film dealing with the difficulties faced by seventeen year old Brian Johnson as a result of an inadequate education and his family's illegal activities. Trapped within a system which fails to take account of individual learning needs, Brian's only solace is in his recurring dream of Africa. Brian yearns for a world where he can be a full participant in the life of the community.
