<p><strong>A special needs girl with a special need to kick some ass.</strong></p>

<p>With its tongue firmly planted in its cheek, <em>Chocolate</em> unleashes a new type of heroine - a martial-arts master with lightning-quick reflexes energised by eating copious amounts of chocolate.</p>

<p>Zen, a girl with autism and attitude, takes on the role of debt collector for her ailing mother, revealing a kung fu repertoire - learnt from numerous viewings of filmmaker Prachya Pinkaew's previous film <em>Ong Bak</em> (MIFF 04) - that would make Bruce Lee jealous.</p>

<p>Featuring a series of highly stylised, no strings, no stunt-doubles fight scenes, Chocolate joins the Pinkaew canon alongside the martial-arts classics <em>Ong Bak</em> and <em>Tom Yum Goong.</em></p>
