MIFF EOFY fundraising appeal: for the love of cinema and our city
This year, we’re inviting film lovers across Victoria to help us raise funds for the MIFF community.
If MIFF has ever surprised you, moved you or opened your world a little wider, we’re asking for your support. Your tax-deductible donation will directly fund programs that make MIFF accessible to more Victorians than ever before:
Where your donations go
Your support ensures we can continue our vital work, from programming to industry initiatives and community engagement. Here's how your donation makes an impact:
Up to 3000 seats at heavily discounted prices.
Each year, MIFF Schools welcomes up to 4000 secondary students to experience international independent cinema – often for the first time – at affordable prices for schools. The program enriches cinema education through curated films aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, including language studies such as French, Mandarin and German, alongside in-cinema excursions, teacher resources and expert-led webinars – because we believe seeing a great film at MIFF can be life-changing.
We’re committed to making MIFF accessible to all. Donations help fund experiences for D/deaf and low-vision communities, including sensory-friendly sessions and baby-friendly screenings, ensuring everyone can enjoy the magic of cinema.
Every donation goes towards maintaining the operational backbone of MIFF, ensuring that we can continue delivering exceptional programming, state-of-the-art screenings and memorable festival experiences. This includes venue costs, staffing, equipment and technical support – the foundation of everything we do.
MIFF Industry empowers local screen practitioners by connecting producers with project financiers at the 37ºSouth Market, nurturing emerging directing talent through the Accelerator Lab and co-financing locally made feature films via the MIFF Premiere Fund.
This intensive, week-long program offers panels, workshops and mentoring to emerging Australian screen critics, providing them with an exclusive platform to grow their skills in a live festival environment.
Your donations help fund awards and recognition programs that highlight outstanding filmmaking talent, inspiring filmmakers to reach new heights and celebrate their creative achievements.
MIFF is proud to be one of the world’s leading festivals celebrating First Nations filmmaking, with initiatives like The Uncle Jack Charles Award, Sovereign Shorts and more. Your support helps amplify First Nations voices on the global stage.
MIFF is dedicated to advancing gender equity in the film industry, fostering diverse voices and ensuring that all filmmakers are supported in bringing their visions to life.
As we continue to grow and evolve, your donations help us reach new heights. From expanding our programming to nurturing future filmmakers, your support ensures that MIFF remains a space where dreams are realised and cinema continues to thrive.
