Love MIFF?
Give a little, help a lot: AusArt Day, 23 October
This year, MIFF is participating in the inaugural AusArt Day: a national day of fundraising for artists and arts organisations.
On 23 October, we’re asking everyone who loves MIFF to stand with us. MIFF isn’t just a film festival. It’s a cultural heartbeat of Melbourne – a place where stories come alive and where community, creativity and cinema collide.
And we need your help.
“As a long-time MIFF volunteer and patron, to have the privilege of presenting work at the festival will forever be one of the highlights of my life. To have our world premiere in a city that so inherently understands the power of multiculturalism – and, beyond that, with my own direct community of creatives and family members – was the perfect launchpad for my film career. Being able to spend time with filmmakers from around the globe as part of the Bright Horizons program was a highlight. Building a community of filmmaking peers is paramount to the start of any career, and to now call filmmakers from Chile, Japan and Thailand – among many others – my peers and friends is totally invaluable; we’ve since crossed paths at other festivals around the globe and been able to support and advise one another. Having spent time at festivals across the globe, MIFF 2025 was a reaffirming moment for me: that it is truly one of the most special festivals, with some of the most intelligent and enthusiastic moviegoers, in the world.”
