MIFF Talks: Family Affair: Filmmakers Share Their Lives

Join Jason Di Rosso, host of ABC Radio National’s The Screen Show, as he speaks to three directors whose intimate films screened at MIFF 69, each shining a light on their own families – and therefore themselves.

Featuring Celeste Bell (UK), co-director of Poly Styrene: I Am A Cliché, which chronicles the legacy of her punk-icon mother and lead singer of X-Ray Spex; Christine Hanberg (Denmark), co-director of He’s My Brother, a moving documentary about life with her 30-year-old deaf and blind sibling; and Tiriki Onus (Australia), whose MIFF Premiere Fund–supported film Ablaze shares the story of his legendary grandfather Bill Onus, Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri man, civil rights activist and the first ever Aboriginal filmmaker.

Family Affair: Filmmakers Share Their Lives streamed as part of MIFF 69’s Talks program, presented in partnership with the University of Melbourne.
