Ana and the Others (Ana y los otros) Argentina

After living in Buenos Aires for a number of years, 25-year-old Ana returns to her small Argentine hometown of Paraná. Catching up with former friends and visiting all her old haunts, Ana notices a distinct difference between her 'sophisticated' worldview and the backwards outlook of the town's inhabitants. Ostensibly in Paraná for a school reunion, Ana's real reason for the trip becomes apparent when she notices a newspaper photograph taken by an old flame. Finding out that her former beau lives in a nearby town, Ana hires a car and embarks on a new journey. Along the way she befriends an eight-year-old boy, Matias, who joins Ana on her quest. The two quickly bond, developing a tender relationship as they edge ever closer to their enigmatic target.

This charming and beguiling film has seduced audiences worldwide with its engaging characters and bright, sunny mood. Ana and the Others screened at Rotterdam and Toronto and was an award winner at Venice, Buenos Aires and Vienna Film Festivals.
