WOZENE: MY LAST FAVOURITE
An intimate and moving story about a family reunion that takes an unexpected twist. One of the filmmakers, Hannah Wozene was adopted into the prosperity of a Norwegian family from Ethopia at the age of two following the death of her mother. At 20 she travelled back to Ethopia in search of her biological family but was unable to find any relatives. She assumed they had all perished in the famines of the 1980s. At 28 she receives a surprising phone call from a cousin in Addis Ababa'her father and her brothers miss her and wish to see her again. The first meeting is emotional and her reserve and her doubts are overcome by a shared sense of humour. Then the questions of why she was given away and what she means to her 'new' family eventually leads to a confrontation.
