FLOWER IN THE POCKET

Director Seng Tat Liew / 2007 / Malaysia

“A film whose genuine humor and lack of pretension, not to mention palpable warmth, set it above the general run of new Malaysian cinema.” - Variety

On Mother's Day in some parts of the world it's tradition to wear a flower, pink or red if your mother is still alive, white if she is no longer living. Flower in the Pocket is the story of two boys who don't know which colour flower they should be wearing - two boys growing up without a mother of their own. With a workaholic father who neglects them, Li Ahn and Li Ohm are free to wander the streets, getting into fights and discovering their own mischievous world where they can fend for themselves. Winner of the Tiger Award at the 2008 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
