Director Ursula Meier / 2008 / Switzerland, France, Belgium

“A road movie in reverse.” - filmmaker Ursula Meier

Starring one of France's finest actresses, Isabelle Huppert, in a brilliantly modulated performance, Ursula Meier makes an ambitious filmmaking debut with this modern social farce about an anarchic family of five living beside an abandoned motorway. When the road is reopened, the family's domestic sanctuary is transformed into a noxious and noisy thoroughfare, but they refuse to budge, powering on with their established routines with bull-headed tenacity.

An unsettling film of contrasts, Home teeters on the verge of comedy, while veering between absurdist drama and surreal fable.

Home has been the recipient of multiple awards on the festival circuit, including the Swiss Film Prize for Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Emerging Actor (Kacey Mottet Klein).
