Crin Blanc, Cheval Sauvage
Albert Lamorisse will be recalled as the director of Bim, a delightful film for children. In Crin Blanc he succeeds in dazzling us with a brilliance and superb technique that seldom appears in the cinema.
Set in the Camargue in the south of France, the film concerns a wild stallion nicknamed "Crin Blanc" and the efforts of a small fisher boy to tame him.
The photography is realised in rich and luminous images sometimes lyrical; often savage and cruel. The sound track is beautifully composed with unusual percussion effects.
