JACK AND JILL: A POSTSCRIPT

Director Phillip Adams, Brian Robinson / 1969 / Australia

Jill is a young Catholic kindergarten teacher with cultural aspirations, who is becoming bored with her boyfriend. Jack is a tow-truck driver, a delinquent bikie in his spare time, with neither cultural pretensions nor girlfriend. They meet when he gatecrashes a church dance. She takes him to the ballet and the art gallery, and he takes her to the wrestling and the motor bike races. But to his sexual overtures she remains prim and proper...

Nursery rhymes are substituted for dialogue. The film was shot around Melbourne over five years.

Silver Award, Australian Film Awards, 1969
