Australia Builds

1956 / Australia

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank have made available to the Australian Government a series of dollar loans for the purchase of vital equipment to pierce mountains, build dams, make steel and purchase Diesel motors for locomotives or great airliners &ndash: thus developing our resources and contributing to the welfare of the people.

We can see how the dollar loans are put to use in a variety of shots illustrating the nation at work.
