U.S.A

Director Henry Strauss / 1955 / Canada

U.S.A. asks the question: "How do you get to know a land and its people?" and then proceeds to answer this question through an imaginary airplane flight from region to region covering all the geographical areas of the country. It shows not only what the land and the people are today, but, through the use of historical vignettes, it brings out the human, cultural, geographical and other factors that shaped them to their present form. Through this approach, it seeks to give a dynamic understanding of America rather than a static picture.
