THE MOMENT OF DECISION
During the last war the Slovenian city of Ljubljana became a prison, and here these events happened.
The local collaborators of the occupiers capture a severely wounded leader of the Resistance movement. The command of the quisling "Home-guards" want at any cost to save his life for further questioning; they send him, heavily guarded, to the hospital where Dr. Koren, a well known surgeon, should operate upon him. The surgeon decides to operate and then flee with his patient to the free territory, held by the Partisans. In the course of these plans, Dr. Koren is compelled to kill. Later lie is troubled by the knowledge that he, a doctor, whose duty is to save life, has killed a man . . .
