Glass
Without benefit of commentary, Bert Haanstra contrasts the mysterious refinement of the work of men with the uniformity of machines. The approach is light and deft and full of humor, communicating above all a delight in the creativeness of men's hands. The color photography is used for a clear purpose so that it combines the image and rhythm for the expression of an idea: the glassmaker speaks for himself through the vivid works of art that he breathes life into.
