Saguenay

Director Chris Chapman / 1962 / Canada

Following the course of the Saguenay River in eastern Quebec from its source, the camera catches the mood and beauty of the river as it builds towards a savage thrust against the dams which divert its power to create electricity. The climax is reached in the magical transmutation of raw bauxite to gleaming aluminium through the energy of tremendous electrical power thus produced.
