Stress

Director Bernice Rubens / 1966 / UK

The film deals with five families whose children are physically handicapped or mentally seriously disturbed. It shows their problems which range from accommodation to finance, and that all are waging a day to day battle with courage, hope, and sometimes despair. The filming was done in the families' homes without rehearsal. The aim of Stress is to show the need for institutions which can care for handicapped children and to give an insight into the stress their parents are experiencing.
