KNOWING TO LEARN
Filmed in various parts of the U.S. and Canada, Knowing to Learn shows the more tested and accepted of the new teaching instruments (such as closed circuit TV) and the less familiar innovations now being tried out. The film dips into the philosophy and methodology of education, but clarity and continuity are maintained by organizing the film study into chapters. Attention is primarily on the child— what he does and how he reacts to the machines offered for his use. From the emotions mirrored in the child's face, the viewer can draw his own conclusions about "'programmed learning". No previous film has shown more of this vital and growing aspect of education.
