WR - MYSTERIES OF THE ORGANISM
WR - MISTERIJE ORGANIZMA
Director Dusan Makavejev has described this film both as a guerilla exercise and as a "Dream Machine for Self-confrontation".
The film is divided into two main sections. The first intersperses a documentary account of the life, work and persecution of Wilhelm Reich— his theory, that social and political oppression stems from unfulfilled sexuality: his arrest in the U.S. as a suspected communist, and his death in prison in Pennsylvania—with examples of the "orgone therapy" work of modern Reich practitioners. The second section is a fictional story centering on Milena, a young liberated Yugoslavian girl, who attempts to sell the gospel of Reichian sexual freedom to a handsome, but politically conditioned Russian skating star.
