COME L'AMORE

Something Like Love

Director Enzo Muzii / 1968 / Italy

A London photographer and an actress working in Rome return to Positano, where they originally met, to re-live their romance, recapture their love as it was. But by doing so, a commitment is demanded which wasn't relevant the first time. And commitment is what Alfred fears....

This first feature by Enzo Muzii is a fragile boy-meets-girl tale with some signs of inspiration by Antonioni, and the British actor Alfred Lynch giving an excellent account of himself. Locations south of Naples provide a background which can't fail. It will be remembered for its unsensational ungimmickry, and the sensitivity of its investigation into the nuances of the relationship.
