The Turning Point
De ommekeer
The film was shot in the slums of Bogota, Colombia. It shows the daily struggle of the slum-dwellers, the forced evictions by the army, the resistance organised by the priests, and the official church, which sides with the establishment. The slum-dwellers talk about oppression by the church in earlier days and the priests discuss the theology of liberation; the Gospels-Marxism relationship, and Colombia, a dictatorship with a democratic facade.
