WE ARE THE GUINEA PIGS

Director Joan Harvey / 1980 / USA

"We are the Guinea Pigs" is a feature-length anti-nuclear documentary on the effects of the Three Mile Island nuclear catastrophe. In interviews with farmers, working-class and middle-class parents of the Harrisburg,

Pennsylvania area, we meet the infants, children and adults who lived through the accident at Three Mile Island. They share the violence and horror experienced, the disorientation, and their violent awakening to the facts of life in the Nuclear Age. They share their sudden education and knowledge. Interviews are woven throughout the film with government and NRC officials, scientists and doctors.
