L.A.X.
"L.A.X. can be classified as an essay on Los Angeles, an experimental documentary. If a fictional structure exists in the film, it is that of a journey through the city.
Through a series of thirty-five shots, the camera travels to various locations, sometimes remaining fixed, sometimes tracking endlessly. What is the history behind these facades, how does it relate to the woman's voice, is she telling the truth? So many questions about the film and about the authority of history ...
The voice-over narration is composed of different (sometimes contradictory) texts about historical moments in the city's 200 years: the Indians, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Los Angeles Times, D W. Griffith and Intolerance, etc. Other texts change the texture of the city-scape: Raymond Chandler, Jean-Luc Godard, Tristan Tzara...
A film about the borders of the city and the borders of cinema
L.A.X. is the abbreviation for Los Angeles International Airport."
