THE GIRL FROM MAXIM'S

Director Alexander Korda / 1933 / UK

Beautifully designed (by Vincent Korda), The Girl From Maxim's is a boisterous musical romp based on a Feydeau farce. lt relates how the staid Doctor Petypon (here played by Leslie Henson) becomes involved with a young woman (Frances Day) and then has to use all his ingenuity to keep his wife (Lady Tree) from finding out. Korda made both the English and French versions in Paris and employed, for the first time. Georges Perinal as his photographer.
