Tit For Tat
1910
/ France
Recently discovered and restored by Australia's own National Film and Sound Archive, TIT FOR TAT is a rare example of hand-stencilled colouring, in common use before the introduction of the Technicolor process. An exquisite, delicately toned fantasia about nature reversing the tables on a woodland hunter. 5&2 The hand-stencilled colour makes for an interesting comparison with the colour systems used in TOLL OF THE SEA and BECKY SHARP.
