For his part, he is to father a child; she waives all claims on him, whether social, economic or emotional. The contract is for three months. The film analyses free union. and by implication, the institution of marriage: released from contractual obligations, sex runs its course with dynamic autonomy.

David Avidan. al 38, is considered as Israel's leading avant-garde poet, painter and underground film maker.

Sex is the first and only Israeli film banned to date.
