A court order forbids a man to see his son who is in his wife's care. Longing to see the boy, one day he takes him from school and intends to spend a weekend with him. When his wife alerts the police, denouncing her husband for abducting their boy, the man panics and takes the child over the border to Belgium.

The boy is anxious to return to his mother, but his father stalls him, promising that his wife will join them soon. However the boy does not trust his father any more and runs away When he is found, the man realizes that he must allow him to return to his mother, and after some complications, they both arrive in Holland, with the father prepared to face the consequences of having defied the court order that separated him from his child.
