To Australia with Love
A product of the notorious 1969 Melbourne film festival censorship scandal, (when Swedish director Stig Bjorkman arrives as a guest of the festival only to find his film I Love, You Love, had been banned by the Australian censor and couldn't be shown)
With time on his hands, and outraged by the censors decision, Bjorkman and a number of Melbourne filmmakers banded together to make this film, a send-up of the customs and censorship Standards of that time. Not seen since its triumphant premiere at the 1969 Melbourne Film Festival, the film has been resurrected for our Opening Night tribute to Erwin Rado, a champion of the censorship-reform lobby for many years.
