Night Cries: A Rural Tragedy
Night Cries is the latest experimental work by the talented Aboriginal filmmaker, Tracey Moffat. This breathtakingiy visual film, set in an abandoned and decaying homestead in the middle of the desert, centres on the life of a middle aged Aboriginal woman who is forced to care for her ageing white mother. Based on Charles Chauvel's 1955 Australian classic Jedda, Night Cries explores the history of white/Aboriginal relations and comments on human loneliness and oppression.
