Queimada

Director Ralf Hertwig, Markus Wernig / 1990 / West Germany

This film deals with the most disastrous environmental problem ever caused by man - the destruction of the tropical rain forest. Queimada transposes this topic in an abstract and symbolic way. There are two levels of action, a luxuriously equipped office room, which symbolises the systematic destruction of the rainforest and the scene of the catastrophe represented by miniature sets of rainforest trees and its clearing.

This film deals with a very important and topical issue, one which profoundly affects our planet's future. Consequently, it's vital that awareness is made among the adults of tomorrow!
