Inland With Sturt
Film Australia filmed the Australian Broadcasting Commission's major contribution to the Jubilee Year, a re-enactment of Sturt's 1829 Expedition down the Murrumbidgee and Murray Rivers. The re-enactment cast actors Grant Taylor and Rod Taylor as Charles Sturt and George McLeay, and army personnel as the other expedition members. Originally shot on 35mm, its soundtrack, like almost all films of the period, was created in the cutting room. The music was the first film score by Malcolm Williamson now Master of the Queen's music.
