This new film from San Francisco filmmmaker Lynne Sachs is a sensual, rather than factual travelogue around Vietnam. With her sister Dana, who is living and working as a Journalist in Vietnam, Sachs travels North from Saigon to Hanoi. Together they create a diary-like compo­sition of filmed images, photographs, music, street sounds, conversations and parables reflecting the history and memories of some of the Vietnamese they meet along the way. These are combined with the sisters' personal reflec­tions and childhood memories of the television accounts of the Vietnamese war.
