Grandfather Cheno... and Other Stories

"We live off memories don't we?... And to remember is to live " states an elderly Mexican gentleman his leathery face telling as much a story as his words. The murder in 1923 of Juan Nepomuceno Perez Rulfo "Cheno", a landowner inthe Mexican state of Jalisco in Mexico and the grandfather of the director is the excuse that takes us into the world of the old inhabitants of that place. They narrate their memories about the post-revolutionary uprisings of 1920 wrapped up in a legendary world of adventure and death. (TP)
