Capillary Action
Water attraction and repulsion is reconstructed cinematographically by one of Australia's longest standing and most uncompromising experimental filmmakers. The artificiality of nature is made explicit via multiple exposures images of water activity shot through iconographic mattes. A kinetic mosaic of fountains, waterfalls, rivers and sprinklers, a translucent dancing spectacle of shifting surfaces, the film continues Winkler's exploration of the perception of landscape as a mediated experience.
