An elderly man owns an isolated general store in rural South Africa. After suffering a series of burglaries which culminate in the murder of a night-watchman the storekeeper finally takes the law into his own hands with tragic consequences. A reflection on the current 'everyman' struggle for economic survival in the face of violent crime in the new South Africa.
