WANDERLUST
Struggling to hold together her train-wreck family, Kelley tracks down her drifter brother to a seedy, remote island off Chile and discovers him living with a ragged group of expatriates. He reacts to her frantic demands to return home by tricking her into being stranded; but when she falls in love with one of the drifters and with wanderlust itself, it triggers a surprising chain of events that forces everyone to draw a new line between personal freedom and responsibility.
An off-beat mix of romantic comedy, family drama, surrealism, folklore and (Wanderlust character) Aunt Clara's trippy slideshow, the film is trademark Damaged Californians (D-Cals) - artists known internationally for their quirky vision and daring work. Smart, funny, hip, and off-kilter, Wanderlust shatters the cliche of road movies by looking at what happens when the road runs out.
"Nutty, surreal, and off-kilter... it's clear why there's a developing international cult following for the D-Cals." - The LA Times
"It's snap-crackle-pop culture devastation... Curious and essential." - The New Times
