ENTER THE VOID
“A wild, hallucinatory mindfuck for adults… defies cinema convention in every way.” - Screen International
Gaspar Noé (Irreversible) continues his standing as one of cinema's most divisive filmmakers with what he refers to as a ‘psychedelic melodrama'.
Drug dealer Oscar (Nathaniel Brown) promises his stripper sister Linda (an oft-naked Paz De La Huerta) that he will never leave her. When Oscar gets killed in a police bust his spirit stays faithful to that promise, refusing to depart the world of the living.
Set in techno neon-coloured Tokyo, Noé's opus is an accomplishment in new shooting techniques and ambitious special effects, the camera flying in and out of buildings, through walls, into altered states and even into the human body (including the fallopian tubes). Be prepared to go where you never thought cinematically possible.
Winner of Best Cinematography and the Special Jury Prize at the Sitges Film Festival.
