CHLOE

Director Atom Egoyan / 2009 / USA/Canada/France

A steamy Hitchcockian thriller that delves into the realm of sexual jealousy.

Eroticism as seen through the eyes of Atom Egoyan (Exotica) comes elegantly composed with caressing camera moves, and Chloe - a twisty-turny thriller - is no exception.

Catherine, suspicious of her husband's fidelity, hires the services of a much younger call-girl to entrap him. When her husband fails the test she has set him, Catherine finds herself unexpectedly enthralled by the vivid accounts of his dalliances - and so begins a sexual journey of experiments, lies and revelations.

Teaming up with screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson (Secretary) for this adaptation of the French film Nathalie (2003), and enlisting the powerful acting triumvirate of Julieanne Moore, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried, Egoyan fleshes out questions of intimacy and trust in a long-established relationship.
