STREET DAYS
There's no such thing as the free world.
Morality is as grey as the run-down streets of contemporary Georgia in filmmaker Levan Koguashvili's gritty and satirical debut feature Street Days.
The old regime is gone but not forgiven by the citizens living amongst the loose bricks and abandoned buildings that line the Georgian streets. For middle-aged Checkie's generation, unbridled capitalism hasn't been easy to deal with, introducing a new world where everything, including drugs, has its price. When Checkie unwillingly becomes a pawn in a high-stake police sting he finds that life under democracy hasn't necessarily become easier for anyone.
“Street Days looks poised to lead a Georgian renaissance… It is just the calling card the beleaguered country needs” - Variety
